Software links
Sourceforge : Free software, including games and applications. And by free we mean open source, so you can partake in the projects as well as enjoy them!

Programming links
Gosu : This is a rock solid library if you prefer C++ or Ruby over C. I highly reccomend it for its enforced use of the Boost smart pointers; they're going to be part of standard C++ ISO soon, after all.

Allegro.cc : This is a really good library. It's C, but high level enough that you can get things done much faster than you would using SDL. It's also about to get a major overhaul, which will make it even more useful. It's also quite easy to wrap C++ around this library, so you don't have to be a C programmer to enjoy it.

The Game Creators : Home of Dark Basic and other commercial programming APIs. I recommend this to new programmers who want to see visual results to their work. I don't normally pay attention to commercial products, but I believe that these are worth the insignificant amount of money ( 50$ for a professional version, come on. ) I would also like to mention that they treat customers with great courtesy and trust.

Stuff
SoundSnap : A place for royalty-free sound effects and music! Highly recommended.

CG Textures : Some free textures you can use royalty-free. Isn't free stuff great?
